Recipe: Cocoa snails


* Ingredients

· 600 g flour

· 2 egg yolks

· 3 g yeast

· a pinch of salt

· 2 rounded tablespoons of sugar

· 2 tablespoons oil

· Milk as required – about 500 ml

For the filling:

· Butter

· Sugar

· Cocoa

* Way to do it

1. In small bowl, dissolve yeast in slightly warm milk with 1 teaspoon of the sugar. Let stand
5-8 minutes.

2. Combine the flour, remaining sugar and salt.

3. Add the yeast mixture, oil and egg yolks.

4. Mix together lightly and knead it until smooth. Cover with a cloth and leave to rise.

5. When it has risen put it on the table and roll it out. Spread some butter on the dough and
sprinkle with sugar, cocoa powder.

6. Roll the dough with the filling inside so that you get a long roll, then cut in to slices.

7. Put the slices on to a well-greased baking tin, leave it to rise again for about 15 minutes,
then bake the snails in preheated 200 degree oven for about 15-20 minutes until snails get a
nice golden brown colour.

Recipe: Khitchuri Bangladesh

* Ingredients
-3 cups fine rice
-1 cup of split yellow lentils (dry-fried)
-¾ cup oil
-8 cups boiling water
-1 tablespoon melted butter
-½ teaspoon crushed turmeric
-1 teaspoon crushed ginger
-¼ teaspoon crushed garlic
-2 onions peeled and sliced
-4 pods of cardamom
-2 Cloves
-2 bay leaves
-5 whole green chili, chopped
-3 pieces of cinnamon
-Salt:as required

* Way to do it

1- Pour some water into the rice and let it soften a little for 20 minutes. Then mix the rice with the lentils and next with crushed ginger, garlic and turmeric.

2- Pour oil into a saucepan. When it is hot, add the onion followed by cardamom, clove, bay leaves, cinnamon and salt. Keep the heat low.

3-When the onions turn a little brownish, add the mixture of rice, lentils and spices and stir them as much as possible.

4-When it is fried enough add boiling water; stir well and cover it with a lid. Raise the heat. Keep stirring now and then, opening the lid. When it starts to simmer and the water and the solid mixture are leveled on the surface, add the chilies. Keep the heat low and keep it like that for to 20 minutes. Open the lid and stir in the melted butter . Keep it covered with the lid for 5 more minutes and you are ready to serve.

Recipe: Goulash Slovak

* Ingredients
-3 lbs. beef, pork or veal.

-12 potatoes.

-2 lg. onions.

-1 1/2 tbsp.Salt.

-pepper6 lg. carrots.

*Way to do it

1- In big pot, saute onions until light brown.

2- Add paprika and mix well. Add meat and saute until lightly brown.

3- Season meat with salt and pepper. Watch - do not burn. Add carrots and mix. Cover with water and simmer for 15 minutes.

4-Add potatoes and more salt and pepper if desired. Mix. Add more to cover.

5- Again simmer 30-45 minutes until potatoes, carrots and meat are soft when stuck with a fork. GOOD LUCK!!! Eat with rye bread and butter. It is yummy.

Recipe: Greek Pasta Salad

* Ingredients
- 8 ounces rotini pasta

- 1/2 cup olive oil

- 1/2 cup red wine vinegar

- 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder

- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves

- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano

- 3 cups sliced mushrooms

- 15 halved cherry tomatoes

- 3/4 cup crumbled feta cheese

- 1/2 cup chopped green onions

- 1 (4 ounce) can chopped black olives

* Way to do it
1- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add rotini pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.


2- Mix together cooked pasta, olive oil, vinegar, garlic powder, basil, oregano, mushrooms, tomatoes, Feta cheese, green onions and olives. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours, serve cold.

Recipe: Irish Scones

* Ingredients
- 1 cup white flour

- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

- 1/4 pound butter, softened

- 2 ounces sugar

- 1 egg, slightly beaten

- 2 ounces milk

* Way to do it
1- Mix flour and baking powder.
2- Add butter, blending until mixture is butter-colored.
3- Add sugar and continue to mix well. Add half the beaten egg and all the milk.
4- Add raisins or some nuts, if desired, mixing well to make a sticky dough.
5- Turn dough onto floured board and knead at least 5 minutes or longer.
6- Cut dough into rounds and place on greased baking sheet or hot frying pan.
7- Brush tops of scones with remainder of beaten egg.
8- Place walnut halves on top, if desired.
9- Bake at 350 to 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes, or until brown. If preparing over an open fire, heat frying pan till very hot.
10- Place scones in pan and cook 7 to 8 minutes. Turn and cook 7 to 8 minutes more.

* Ingredients
- 1 kg of clams

- 1 onion

- 2 bobbies cayenas

- 2 garlic cloves

- 1 sprig of parsley

1- To put the clams in cold water with salt during 1hour. In this time the clams expel the sands and clean themselves.

3- To crush the garlic, the bobbies and the parsley and add to frying pan.

4- Add the champaign, sal and the clams when the oil is very hot.

5- Wait while open the clams being careful to lost the water clams. If the clams are too time on hot it can dry and lost the great taste.
